A sophisticated and swinging new trio of Ottawa’s leading jazz musicians makes its debut at Montgomery Scotch Lounge to play original compositions and choice jazz standards. Expect music that’s distinctive, colourful and filled with discoveries and interplay.

Scott Latham is a vibraphonist, percussionist and drummer originally from Nova Scotia. In addition to being active on the local freelance and jazz scenes in Ottawa, he performs full-time as a member of the Central Band of the Canadian Armed Forces.

Peter Hum has been a mainstay of Ottawa’s jazz scene for more than three decades. Largely self-taught as a jazz musician, he has released three albums of original music. All feature all-stars of Canadian jazz and were supported by arts grants from the City of Ottawa. In 2020 and 2022 he toured Ontario, Quebec and the Maritimes in support of his most recent album, Ordinary Heroes, thanks to grants from the Ontario Arts Council and Canada Council for the Arts. Ordinary Heroes received a four-star review in DownBeat magazine.

Sage Reynolds recently moved from Montreal to Ottawa. The compose and musician works in a variety of musical styles and contexts (jazz, folk, indie, media composition, and sound design/sampling). Sage has performed or
recorded with Thomas Hellman, Jordan Officer, Andrea Lindsay, Stars, Amon Tobin, Dawn Tyler Watson, and Sage Reynolds Quartet. He was awarded the “Prix Étoiles Galaxie de Radio-Canada” at the 2005 Montreal International Jazz Festival.
