Rachel Beausoleil

Rachel Beausoleil is a multi-lingual Canadian jazz fusion artist, and award-nominated producer. Tony Frankel (StageAndCinema.com) says “her vocals are so endearing, enchanting, and entrancing.” Born and raised in Montreal, she has been based in Ottawa her whole adult life and has been performing since the early 1990s.

Since she learned Spanish in high school, Latin musics have always brought out Rachel’s passionate side. She led a Latin jazz band called Caoba in the 1990s that included Álvaro de Minaya on percussion. Since then, she has gained a great deal of experience in Panamerican song styles and recorded 5 albums: Sol da Capital (2022); Brazz (2020); Trille des voix (2012); The Dawning (2009); and Close to My Heart (2001, 2021). She has even begun to write her own songs in Spanish and Portuguese, as well as English and French.

This special evening with long-time collaborators Garry Elliott (guitar) and Álvaro de Minaya (percussion) promises to be a “coup de coeur” for anyone who loves the Spanish language and Latin rhythms.
