Veteran Ottawan pianist/composer Peter Hum has enlisted three of the city’s most potent young jazz musicians – saxophonist Samuel Cousineau, drummer Chris Pond and drummer José Monchito Hernández García  – to bring his original compositions to life during his Ottawa Jazz Festival Homegrown Series show at Montgomery Scotch Lounge. Expect dynamic, lyrical modern jazz rich with improvisation and interplay as the quartet plays music from Peter’s acclaimed albums A Boy’s Journey and Ordinary Heroes, and also some as-yet unrecorded new music.
